Did you send inventory to Amazon before 15^th February 2018 and it still hasn’t sold?  Or worse still, did you send them inventory before 15^th August 2017?  If so you need to take action!

This is a stark reminder that inventory items in Amazon fulfilment centres will be incurring long term storage fees in 8 weeks’ time (15^th August 2018) if they arrived at any time before 15^th February this year, and are yet to be sold.  Not only will there be the long-term storage fees, but these are in addition to the regular Inventory Storage Fee.  For every assessed cubic foot of space taken by your products, the fee will be £12.50 or £25.00 dependent on the time period – 6 or 12 months respectively.  Calculate into cubic metres and that’s over £441 and £882 per cubic metre (approximately a pallet).  This will have a huge detrimental effect on your profit margin.

So, what can be done to avoid the long-term storage fees?

There are two options, and both need to take place within the next 8 weeks, i.e. before 15^th August!

Firstly, you can drive the sales of your products.  Review your product listings, keywords, and ads.  You can even market them as being on sale and be competitive.  Customers love a bargain!

Secondly, you can generate a removal order, and remove or dispose of the items prior to the fees being charged.
